About us
Ground Wine Bar is the brainchild of two lifelong wine enthusiasts, Alexs Rasputin and Kaiser Wilmar. Alexs brings a warm, people-first approach honed through his early days in stage acting and refined by studying Hospitality Business Management in New Zealand, while his hands-on experience managing beverage programs in Auckland has shaped his expert palate. Kaiser, the globe-trotting ‘chameleon’ with a rich background in wine and spirits marketing, has spent years curating exceptional selections from around the world.
When these two met, their shared passion for great wine and good company sparked the idea of creating a cozy, unpretentious oasis beneath the city. At Ground Wine Bar, you'll find an ever-changing international wine list—with more than 50 wines by the glass—and a menu of hearty, locally sourced nibbles. More than just a bar, it’s a welcoming sanctuary where every glass comes with a story, and every visit feels like catching up with old friends.
